Founded in 1970 in the heart of East Los Angeles, Self Help Graphics & Art is dedicated to the production, interpretation, and distribution of prints and other media by Chicana/o and Latinx artists. Our multi-disciplinary, inter-generational programs promote artistic excellence and empower our community by providing access to space, tools, training, and capital.

Self Help Graphics' Barrio Mobile Art Studio (BMAS), founded in 1974 and re-launched in 2014, takes art creation to the streets with arts programming that features both youth and multi-generational workshops. BMAS serves Self Help Graphics' mission to nurture emerging artists and present Latin art to a broad audience, i.e., the vast demographic that is Los Angeles, expanding to audiences and communities beyond East Los Angeles and Boyle Heights.
