About this Artist
CRISTINA FERNANDEZ is a yoga and movement instructor, as well as performer working throughout Los Angeles, collaborating with various communities and artists of all disciplines in English and Español. She is Grand Park’s Yoga A La Park instructor, one of the park’s longest running programs. Cristina has taught yoga and meditation through the LA Phil’s YOLA after school program, Lululemon, and the BlogHer conference/Kaiser Permanente.
As an artist, Cristina has worked with The Skirball Cultural Center, The Hammer Museum, Bootleg Theater, Los Angeles Theater Center, Center Theater Group, L.A.T.C., and Women’s Center for Creative Work, among many other renowned venues throughout the country. Her next original work is a collaboration of artists around the concept of “Mothering,” and “Motherhood.”
Cristina has also taught acting, movement, and voice at the New York Film Academy, Ramon Cortines School of Performing Arts, and CalArts; she is a graduate of the CalArts MFA Acting program.
Cristina’s goal is to demystify the practice of yoga, making it accessible to people from all cultures and across languages, as a technical and enriching practice.
Cristina is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and is thrilled to be part of this day celebrating L.A.’s vibrant and welcoming communities.
