About this Artist
Girlschool is a music festival and creative community with a mission: to celebrate, connect, and lift women*-identified artists, leaders, and voices. Since it came to be in 2016, Girlschool has held three annual sold-out women-led three-day festivals in Los Angeles, holds an annual capsule festival in Austin during SXSW in partnership with TOMS, and between festivals presents IDEALAB, an ongoing interdisciplinary event series on the forefront of culture. Founded by Anna Bulbrook (violinist, the Airborne Toxic Event) in response to how few women she saw around her in the rock world and on international music festival stages, Girlschool has grown into a community of women-identified artists, leaders, and voices who together have raised thousands to support girl-positive 501c3s in Los Angeles.
