About this Artist
Tiffany Rice is an avid violinist, educator, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion practitioner. She currently works at the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge, MA as the Middle School Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Global Education Practitioner. Prior to her time at BB&N, Rice held faculty and administrative roles at various schools in Massachusetts and South Carolina including Director of El Sistema at The Conservatory Lab Charter School (Dorchester, MA), the Performing Arts Director at the Winsor School (Boston, MA), and the Carolina String Academy Program Coordinator at the Ashley Hall School (Charleston, SC). Rice also served on the violin faculty for intensive summer programs such as the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute and is a current violin faculty member with the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s YOLA National Festival Overture Orchestra.
Passionate about string education and pedagogy, Rice holds a BME, MM, and Performer Diploma from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where she studied violin performance and pedagogy with Mimi Zweig and Brenda Brenner respectively. In addition to teaching, Rice has performed with several orchestras and chamber ensembles in the southeastern United States including the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, the Long Bay Symphony Orchestra, the North Charleston Pops Orchestra, and the Ensemble of St. Claire. Rice currently performs with the Apollo Ensemble of Boston, and she is thrilled to return as a YOLA National violin coach!
