About this Artist
Mia Ruhman is honored to be a 2019/20 fellow in the LA Phil Nancy and Barry Sanders Composer Fellowship Program. Mia is 16 years old and attends Palisades High School. She’s participated in the National Children’s Chorus for nine years and is a member of the Premier and Scholar ensembles, which have performed at the Vatican, the Great Wall of China, and the Demilitarized Zone in South Korea. She’s the soprano section leader for Pali’s Concert Choir, and a Junior Soloist with Palisades Methodist Church. Mia has been in many theatrical productions. She’s a singer-songwriter and accompanies herself on piano. In her spare time, she loves to hike and spend time with her friends. She studies classical composition with Dr. Ian Krouse and is grateful for her wonderful mentors Luke McEndarfer, Dr. Pamela Blackstone, Clark Harris, Jaco Wong, Ross Chitwood, Nancy Fracchiolla, and Cheri Smith.
