About this Artist
Emily Webster-Zuber (18) is a pianist-composer native to Los Angeles. After homeschooling and skipping her senior year of high-school, she is pursuing a B.A. in Piano Performance at Mount Saint Mary’s University. Her musical education began at the Colburn School in Los Angeles from 2009-17. She has studied private composition with Dr. Ian Krouse (UCLA) since 2017. Her most recent and honored accomplishment is as a recipient of the ASCAP Foundation 2021 Morton Gould Young Composer Awards.
Emily has the fortune of having participated in composition programs as the esteemed LA Phil Composer Fellowship Program, Luna Lab Meets LACO, and Sunset Chamber Festival’s Young Composers Workshop. In addition, Emily is an alum of such musical programs as Salastina, the Wallis Annenberg’s GRoW, LA Opera’s 90012, Junior Chamber Music, Idyllwild Arts, and Concerto*Fest*Europa. All of these programs have significantly contributed to her growth as a well-rounded musician.
Committed to helping student musicians bring music into their communities, she was appointed JCM’s Student Service Alliance Director for 2019-21. Alongside her sister, Kaitlin, Emily is co-founder and co-director of Musical Traces (MusicalTraces.com), an organization dedicated to the development of young classically trained artists.
