About this Artist

Librarian KENNETH BONEBRAKE is a native of Los Angeles and began trumpet at age eight. He first studied with Zeke Zarchy and, later, John Clyman. His interest in theory and composition led him to private study with Moacir Santos and his special mentor Lyle "Spud" Murphy. He then studied conducting with Hans Beer. While pursuing these studies, he worked in commercial music as copyist, arranger, and conductor. He was orchestra librarian for the Pacific Symphony in Orange County, CA, prior to becoming a member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic in 1989.
