American heldentenor Stephen Gould started in the 2019/20 season with an appearance at the Opera Ball in St. Petersburg and a Wagnerian concert at the BBC Proms in London. Plans include Ariadne auf Naxos in both Hamburg an Vienna, the 1st act Die Walküre in Vienna, the 2nd act Tristan und Isolde in concert in Washington as well as Tristan und Isolde at Deutsche Oper Berlin and Tannhäuser in Riga.
2020 are scheduled the 1st act of Die Walküre in Copenhagen, Otello, Siegfried and Götterdämmerung in Vienna, Die Frau ohne Schatten in concert under Yannick Nézet-Séguin with Rotterdam Philharmonic in Rotterdam, Dortmund and Paris, Gurre-Lieder conducted by Thielemann in Dresden and Salzburg, Tannhäuser and a new production Götterdämmerung in Bayreuth, Tristan und Isolde in Berlin and conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen in Los Angeles as well as Otello in Manheim.
2021 he will perform Die Walküre, Siegfried and Götterdämmerung conducted by Thielemann in Dresden, Götterdämmerung at Bayreuth Festival as well as Tristan und Isolde in both Valencia and San Francisco.

Stephen Gould has performed with conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Ivor Bolton, Riccardo Chailly, Adam Fischer, Daniele Gatti, Hartmut Haenchen, Marek Janowski, Philippe Jordan, Fabio Luisi, Zubin Mehta, Ingo Metzmacher, Kent Nagano, Andris Nelsons, Seiji Ozawa, Simon Rattle, Donald Runnicles, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Christian Thielemann, Franz Welser-Möst and David Zinman.

He sang Beethoven’s 9th symphony in Berlin and Munich, Beethoven's Missa Solemnis in Chicago, Schönberg’s Gurre-Lieder in Munich, Montreal, Berlin, Brussels, Amsterdam, Helsinki, Montreux and at the Lucerne Festival, Mahler's 8th symphony in Bergen, New York with Pierre Boulez, Leipzig, Paris, Vienna and Budapest, Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde in Chicago, Berlin, Graz, Lucerne, Paris and Prague, or Stravinsky’s Oedipus Rex in London.

Among his recordings are Beethoven IX with Donald Runnicles, Siegfried, Götterdämmerung and Tristan und Isolde with Christian Thielemann as well as Siegfried and Tristan und Isolde with Marek Janowski.

In May 2015 he was awarded the title Österreichischer Kammersänger.
