Jay Dunn is an actor, director and choreographer based in Brooklyn, NY. As an actor and deviser, Jay has worked Off-Broadway, Off-Off-Broadway, regionally, and internationally with companies including Pig Iron Theatre Company, rainpan43, Geoff Sobelle & Charlotte Ford, PTP/NYC & Project Y, theaters including Lincoln Center Education, Atlantic Stage 2, Arena Stage, Folger Theatre, Woolly Mammoth Theatre, MCA Theatre and internationally at The Barbican, Edinburgh Fringe and Maison des Metallos. As a director, recent credits include Music at the Close at Carnegie Hall, the world premiere of Spoolie Girl Off-Broadway, The Pinks at Dixon Place and a developmental libretto reading of Rev 23 (White Snake Projects/Beth Morrison Projects). As movement director, recent credits include Village of Vale at Lincoln Center Education (co-movement director), Rise/Fall at ART/NY Theatre and Pity in History at Atlantic Stage 2. Jay’s most recent work on screen can be seen in the film We Go On (dir. Andy Mitton/Jesse Holland), as a motion capture performer in Red Dead Redemption 2 and in CarGurus commercials. In another life, Jay was a professional blackjack card-counter with an offshoot of the infamous MIT crew. Jay currently teaches movement and mask at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and SUNY Purchase BFA programs. A graduate of École Jacques Lecoq, Jay is also an alum of Lincoln Center Directors Lab 2018 and SDC Foundation Observership class of 2018.
