Jesus Mendez

About this Artist

Born into one of the most important gypsy families “The Mendez”, “La Paquera de Jerez” was known as the quintessential power-house flamenco singer of all time. Jesus, has inherited many of those traits. His career began at the age of seventeen debuting in 2002 at the prestigious Flamenco Cultural Association D. Antonio Chacon de Jerez, the young singer has not stopped since.

He worked with flamenco greats such Moraito Chico, Rocio Molina, Gerardo Nuñez and Carmen Cortes, among others.

He has traveled the world, from Asia to Europe through Africa and America. In 2008 he presented his first album, “Jerez Sin Fronteras”, with the collaboration of artists such as Moraito Chico, Diego del Morao or Santiago Lara. 

His second album “Añoranza” was released in 2012 at the Flamenco Bienal of Seville in Jerez, accompanied by El Torta, Miguel Poveda, Manuela Mendez as guest artists, all receiving overwhelming public and critical acclaim.
