About this Artist
Jasmine Daquin is a versatile performer, leader, and educator leading classical music to a more equitable future. As an accomplished oboist, she performs and teaches repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary on a regular basis. She holds degrees and certificates in music performance from the Eastman School of Music (MM), Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College (PC) and SUNY Purchase College (BM).
Jasmine has worked with the International Contemporary Ensemblein collaboration with the Young Women Composers Camp, Urban Playground Chamber Orchestra, and Bay Chamber Concerts for their summer series, and participated in prestigious festivals including the Gateways Music Festival, Colour of Music Festival, Orpheus Chamber Music Intensive, Decoda|Skidmore Chamber Music Institute, Domaine Forget International Music and Dance Academy, and Ensemble Evolution at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.
In addition to her performing life, Jasmine deeply values community engagement, equal opportunity, and accessibility in music. She has taught students of a wide range of ages and offers lessons in both oboe and oboe reed-making. Jasmine founded BCME in order to offer students of all ages, abilities, and levels an enriched music education and an abundance of resources, guidance, and support.
