Maria F. Fernandez

About this Artist

Born in Valencia, Carabobo, Venezuela, on October 14, 2002, Maria commenced her musical studies in El Sistema at the age of five, beginning her violin beginner classes with Liliana Salazar and Yenifer Laurens a year later. At the age of eight, she entered the tutelage of Maestro Sergio Celis at the Latin American Violin Academy inside El Sistema, where she studied until October 2017, when she began classes with Maestro José Francisco Del Castillo. She has participated in master classes with Pablo Vásquez, Luis Miguel González, Francisco Díaz, José Francisco del Castillo, Thibault Vieux, and Benjamin Baker. Among her solo appearances are Vieuxtemps’ Violin Concerto No. 4, Saint-Saëns’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, Tchaikovsky, and Vivaldi's Four Seasons. She has performed with the Concertino of the Tejedores de Sueños Orchestra, Carabobo Regional Academic Program, Carabobo Youth Symphony Orchestra, Sergio Celis Academic Camerata, and the National Youth Orchestra of Venezuela 2017.

 Currently she plays in the first violin section of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela.
