About this Artist
Emily Lair is a Canadian arts administrator based in Los Angeles, California. Currently, she is pursuing learning and community work with the Los Angeles Philharmonic as Manager, Learning, where she designs music and youth development programming for young musicians, including YOLA and the Composer Fellowship Program. Prior to working with the LA Phil, she was Artistic Programs Manager with Street Symphony, where she used music and storytelling to address homelessness and incarceration in L.A. County in programs such as the 2016 annual Messiah Project in L.A.’s skid row neighborhood, which was named in the “Best Classical Music Performances of 2016” in the Los Angeles Times. She holds a Bachelor of Music in horn performance from McGill University’s Schulich School of Music and a Professional Studies Certificate from the Colburn Conservatory of Music, where she studied with LA Phil principal horn Andrew Bain. Emily lives in Silverlake with her husband Matt.
