Jaden Amersi Anselmo

About this Artist

Jaden Amersi Anselmo is a 18-year-old senior at Windward School. He is of East African and Indian heritage and learned at a young age how music offers a medium for uniting global audiences. Jaden has been playing classical piano since the age of six. He composed his first piano short score in 2018 titled Romanze. Through the mentorship of Professor Ian Krouse at UCLA, Jaden found that music composition was a beautiful mixture of creative storytelling, intention, and happy accidents. Two years ago, Jaden completed his first orchestral piece, Dawn Over the Ocean, which received praise from Academy Award-winning composer Kris Bowers. His passion for music grew further through his involvement with Music Mends Minds (MMM) where he saw the ability music had to heal and provide purpose to seniors affected with severe neurological disorders. Jaden is now an ambassador for MMM and won the Curtis School Alumni Grant. He donated this grant to MMM. In his free time, Jaden loves surfing, snowboarding, and spending time with his dogs. His passions include travel as this allows him to see the world through the eyes of a global citizen. Jaden is a 2021/22 fellow in the LA Phil Composer Fellowship Program.
