About this Artist
Luzma Ortiz was born and raised in Southern California surrounded by music played and composed by her father, world-renowned South American harpist Alfredo Rolando Ortiz. A career in the Arts was inevitable. At 13, she began singing in various choirs for ten years. After realizing that what she loved most about singing was "becoming someone else," she moved on to study acting at the American Musical And Dramatic Academy in New York City. Before graduating from AMDA, she booked her first national tour and began her professional acting career. After touring in various productions and living as a New Yorker for ten years, she returned to California to invest in her craft. She continued refining her skills and talents at Fullerton College and the University of California, Irvine. Since graduating, she has taken the Southern California theatre scene by storm, performing in several of the most highly regarded theaters in the state. You can spot Luzma and hear her voice in TV commercials and animation voice-overs as well as in audiobooks.
