About this Artist
Roth Marvel Jem Roth is a 14-year-old sophomore at Agoura High School. She is a composer and plays piano and French horn. She plays in the Colburn Youth Orchestra, Community Band of Conejo Valley, and Agoura’s wind ensemble, marching band, and their competitive studio jazz band. She has performed with the National Children’s Chorus at numerous venues including Lincoln Center, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Royce Hall, Wiener Musikverein, the Berlin Cathedral, and the Berlin Wall. She has won numerous awards as a classical and jazz pianist at regional and state levels. Some of the most influential mentors she has studied with include Thom Sharp, Ian Krouse, Matt Harris, Danielle Ondarza, Nicole Nale, and Bob Hackett. Marvel is a member of the Tri-M Music, Math, and Science Honors Societies and enjoys tutoring, hiking, and working out at the gym. Marvel Roth is a 2021/22 fellow in the LA Phil Composer Fellowship Program.
