About this Artist
Composer and vocalist Samuel L. Siskind, 15, started playing piano at L.A. farmer’s markets at 8. Joining the National Children’s Chorus in 2015, he earned a youth principal role with the LA Opera by 2017 and thereafter began composition study with Professor Ian Krouse. Samuel’s work spans stage, recording and film. His current commission is an a capella choral work, “Out from the Deep” for the February Golden Bridge Concert. His vocal solo of "Panis Angelicus” was used for “The Uncanny” (2022) climax scene. He was honored to be a Grammy-winning performer on the Best Choral Performance of 2022 conducted by Gustavo Dudamel. His orchestral waltz “Rain” was scored for ballet at YIAF 2020. Samuel is a sophomore at LMB Academy and enjoys skiing, photography, digital art and working toward his private pilots license. Samuel L. Siskind is a 2022/23 fellow in the LA Phil Composer Fellowship Program.
