Zakiya Young is an accomplished actress, singer and playwright. Last August, she was honored to participate in the esteemed Ojai Playwrights Conference New Works Festival as both playwright and actress as she continued her exploration of Black suburban life in the midst of Black Lives Matter protests in her autobiographical solo show “Suburban Black Girl”. Zakiya was the featured female vocalist for the New Haven Symphony’s Americana concert series, voiced characters in video games, narrated several audiobooks that can be found on Audible and is the voice of Ruby, the Kooky Mom on Little Demon (FX).
