About this Artist

Resident choreographer with Grupo Corpo since 1978, Rodrigo Pederneiras has long been celebrated both in Brazil and abroad. Alongside a remarkably cohesive creative and performing team, he developed his own choreographic language—now the defining signature of Grupo Corpo. His inventiveness, precision, and discipline, combined with the company’s technical brilliance, have been central to forging a powerful image of Brazilian dance on the world stage.

Beyond Grupo Corpo, he has created works for companies including the Ballet do Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro, Balé Teatro Guaíra, São Paulo Companhia de Dança, Balé da Cidade de São Paulo, Companhia de Dança de Minas Gerais, the ballet of Deutsche Oper Berlin (Germany), Gulbenkian Ballet (Portugal), Ballets Jazz Montréal (Canada), Stadttheater St. Gallen (Switzerland), Opéra national du Rhin (France), and the José Limón Dance Company (US).
