About this Artist
Mindy Cabral is originally from Thousand Oaks, CA. At age 16, Ms. Cabral was selected as a Discovery Artist with the New West Symphony and performed the Hummel Trumpet Concerto as a guest soloist. Ms. Cabral attended The Juilliard School and the University of Southern California (USC) earning a degree in Trumpet Performance. She has completed Orff Schulwerk Masters Level from Memphis University (MU) under Jos Wuytack (protege of Carl Orff). Ms. Cabral has performed throughout the United States, including the famous Walt DIsney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, and Carnegie Hall in New York City, and overseas with artists such as: Michael Bolton, Kanye West, The Four Tops, The Temptations, the American Youth Symphony, and the New West Symphony. In addition to live performance, she has recorded for David Hughs “Foreign Shores”, Brian King “The Godfather Works”, Bear McCreary “Band Camp”, among other albums and independent films in Los Angeles. Recent highlights include performing in the Malibu Stage Company production of Cabaret produced by Dick Van Dyke, musical dramaturg for the Minimalist Jukebox: Toyota Symphonies for Youth: Finding Patterns in Music with The LA Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall, and serving as the Music Teachers’ Association Santa Clarita Valley Branch President since 2011. Ms. Cabral has shared her passion and love of music through teaching private lessons and group classes from babies to adults over the past 15 years. In 2005 she opened her own music school for children, Little School of Music, located in Valencia, CA.
