Le Concert d’Astrée

About this Artist

An instrumental and vocal ensemble founded in 2000, conducted by Emmanuelle Haïm and dedicated to Baroque music of the 17th and 18th centuries, Le Concert d’Astrée has become one of today’s jewels of this repertoire. Le Concert d’Astrée achieved rapid success on major international stages, with a long-term residency at the Opéra de Lille since 2004 and an extensive and critically acclaimed discography available on Erato/Warner Classics. The ensemble’s performances are characterized by a vibrant energy and a meticulous attention to detail, bringing the rich textures and intricate harmonies of Baroque music to life.

In 2021 Le Concert d’Astrée celebrated its 20th anniversary at the Staatsoper in Berlin and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées under the shared baton of Emmanuelle Haïm and Simon Rattle.

In the coming seasons, Le Concert d'Astrée performs on some of Europe's leading opera stages, notably in France (Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Philharmonie de Paris, Opéra de Lille), Switzerland (Grand Théâtre de Genève and Opernhaus Zürich), Austria (Salzburg Festival), and the Netherlands (Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam), in operas by Handel, Purcell, Rameau, and Mozart, as well as in numerous prestigious concert halls, touring in France, Spain, and the United States.

Le Concert d'Astrée is taking part in the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s The Handel Project, under the artistic direction of Emmanuelle Haïm, as part of a three-year residency at Walt Disney Concert Hall in collaboration with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
