WHAT:
French virtuoso pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard comes to Walt Disney Concert Hall, Wednesday, December 1, at 8 p.m. to perform a program of music by composers Frédéric Chopin, Olivier Messiaen and Maurice Ravel. The performance is part of the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s 2010/11 Colburn Celebrity series.
Aimard is widely acclaimed as a key figure of music in our time and is known for his spectacular playing of music from Bach to the latest of contemporary works.
Future recitals for the 2010/11 Colburn Celebrity recital series season include: violinist Itzhak Perlman (January 25, 2011); pianist Simon Trp?eski (February 22, 2011); pianist Yefim Bronfman (March 9, 2011); and flutist Sir James Galway and the Emerson String Quartet (March 14, 2011).

Tickets ($38 - $99) are on sale now at the Walt Disney Concert Hall Box Office, online at LAPhil.com, or via credit card by phone at 323.850.2000. When available, choral bench seats ($18) will be released for sale to selected Philharmonic, Colburn Celebrity Series, and Baroque Variations performances beginning at noon on the Tuesday of the second week prior to the concert. A limited number of $10 rush tickets for seniors and full time students may be available at the Walt Disney Concert Hall box office two hours prior to the performance. Valid identification is required; one ticket per person; cash only. Groups of 12 or more may be eligible for special discounts for selected concerts and seating areas.
