WHAT:       Celebrating the 35th anniversary of the critically acclaimed album, Stardust, country music star, activist, songwriter, American music legend, and ten-time Grammy-winner, Willie Nelson, will perform the 1978 release with orchestrations by David Campbell at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10 at 8 PM.

Produced by Booker T. Jones and released by Columbia Records in 1978, Willie Nelson’s Stardust is a collection of classics from the Great American Songbook including “Georgia on My Mind,” “Moonlight in Vermont,” “September Song,” “All of Me,” and “Blue Skies,” among other repertoire standards. The album garnered a Grammy award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance (for “Georgia on My Mind”), was certified quintuple platinum in the U.S., hit number one on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart (and remained there for 10 years), and produced four hit singles.

The performances of Stardust with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra - led by conductor/composer/arranger David Campbell - mark the first time Nelson has performed the album live, and also the first time he’s performed the album with a full orchestra. In addition to Stardust, Nelson will perform some of his greatest hits.

Opening the show is singer, songwriter, and four-time Grammy-winner Lyle Lovett and His Large Band.
