Los Angeles, CA (April 6, 2016) - The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association today announced the addition of Bob Mould and Ezra Furman to the Hollywood Bowl line-up for KCRW's World Festival on Sunday, September 25, 2016, at 7:00 PM. Trailblazers, heroes, outcasts, and rebels unite as untethered energies come out for one glorious night of dance, punk and pop. The LA Phil previously announced English indie rock institution Bloc Party to close the show. MS MR are no longer on the bill.

Bob Mould's journey as singer-songwriter, guitarist, author, DJ, and all-around MVP began in 1979 with the formation of Hüsker Dü. In 1988, Mould began the first part of a solo career, releasing the albums Workbook and Black Sheets of Rain. In 1992, Bob gave the world Sugar, a reimagined power trio that toured the globe and produced two albums and an EP: Copper Blue, Beaster, and File Under: Easy Listening. From these releases came a cache of songs -"Helpless," "Hoover Dam," "If I Can't Change Your Mind," "Your Favorite Thing" - that remain staples of Bob's live shows to this day. Mould detailed his experience coming out as a gay man in the punk rock scene with his critically applauded 2011 memoir See a Little Light. Extending the prolific tear that kicked off with the 2012 release of Silver Age and intensified with Beauty & Ruin in 2014, Mould released Patch The Sky on March 25, 2016 on Merge Records. Once again featuring his stalwart band of Jason Narducy on bass and Jon Wurster on drums, Patch The Sky is a triumph of opposing forces and properties-as is to be expected from the master of balancing personal darkness with melodic brightness.

With 2013's Day Of The Dog LP Chicago's Ezra Furman became a must-see live act and critical darling in the U.S. and the UK. His new LP Perpetual Motion People, out now on Bella Union, is Furman's magnum opus, with equal doses of desperation and joie de vivre, irresistible melody and boundless energy. It is outsider music with a pop sensibility, touching on depression and gender fluidity. Having taken his time to work his way into the public consciousness, Furman's time is unquestionably now, as he finally faces an expectant audience hungry for the next stage of his thrilling approach, on record and on stage.
