    Los Angeles, September 29, 2016 - The Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association elected Jay Rasulo to succeed Diane B. Paul as Board Chair at its annual meeting today. The appointment is effective as of October 1.

    "It is an honor to be elected Chair of the Board of this outstanding organization, said Rasulo. "Between its two world-class venues, unparalleled orchestra and extensive education programs, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association continues to lead the way as a premier arts institution not only in Southern California, but across the world. I look forward to working with my dedicated colleagues on the Board of Directors and the exceptional staff at the LA Phil as we continue to contribute to the success of this storied organization."        

    "The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association is thrilled to welcome Jay Rasulo as the new Chair of the Board," said Deborah Borda, President and CEO of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. "Having served on the Board for the past 10 years, Jay gets what the LA Phil is all about. He has been leading the charge in our quest for innovation and excellence as the head of the Board's dynamic Marketing Committee since 2009, and his incredible depth of knowledge will prove invaluable as we approach our Centennial.

Over the past three years, her tireless efforts on behalf of the LA Phil have been an inspiration to us all.     Jay Rasulo has served on the LA Phil's Board of Directors since 2006, which has included a role as the Chair of the Marketing Committee and Vice Chair of the Executive Committee for the Hollywood Bowl. Rasulo is currently an investor and advisor in tech startups in various consumer-facing industries. He previously was the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Executive Vice President at Walt Disney Company, as well as the President of the Parks and Resorts Division. Rasulo's philanthropic involvement includes serving on the Board of Governors for the Boys and Girls Club of America and serving as a founding Board member of HeritX, a non-profit inherited cancer research organization.

    Also during today's Board meeting, four newly elected members were officially announced and welcomed to the Board of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association: Gregory Adams, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Sarah Ketterer and Christopher Rising:   

    Gregory A. Adams is executive vice president and group president of Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and Health Plan, Inc. reporting to the Chairman and CEO. He has direct responsibility for all seven Kaiser Permanente Regions, serving more than 10 million members and operating 38 hospitals and more than 620 medical office facilities. Adams' accountabilities include co-leading Enterprise Shared Services to serve the operational needs of the regions and leading Kaiser Permanente's national Medicare care delivery strategy. He also has responsibility for the organization's partnership with the National Basketball Association, the first-ever health care partnership with the NBA. In addition to his group president responsibilities, he serves on the organization's National Executive Team and Executive Committee. Adams is past chair of the California Hospital Association's Board of Trustees and serves on the executive committee. He is a director of the American Nurses Foundation. Adams is a member of the National Association of Health Services Executives and also serves on the board of directors for the California Chamber of Commerce.   

    Ellen Goldsmith-Vein is the Chief Executive Officer of the Gotham Group, a management and production company she founded in 1994. The company produces live-action and animated movies, in addition to representing over 500 clients including writers, directors, actors and producers. She was awarded the 'Talent Manager/Producer of the Year' award from Animation Magazine in 2014. Before launching her career in entertainment, Goldsmith-Vein worked as an investment banker. She is a member of the Blue Ribbon of the Music Center and a member of the California Film Commission. She serves on the Advisory Boards of Young Storytellers Foundation and 826 LA. Goldsmith-Vein is a former board member of Women in Film, Starbright Foundation, National Association of Television Arts & Sciences, the Idyllwild Arts Foundation and Girls Inc. 

    Sarah Ketterer is the chief executive officer of Causeway Capital Management LLC, an employee-owned investment management firm based in Los Angeles, specializing in managing global, international, emerging market and absolute return equities. She is a member of Causeway's operating committee and co-founded the firm in June 2001. Sarah is currently a director of the Music Center Foundation and treasurer of the Los Angeles World Affairs Council. She serves on the board of the Los Angeles Advisory Board of Girls Who Invest and the Los Angeles advisory council of CollegeSpring. Sarah is the trustee of the Sarah Ketterer Family Foundation and also vice president, treasurer and secretary of the Hotchkis Foundation, which supports arts and culture, community and economic development, education, music and youth services.

    Christopher Rising is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Rising Realty Partners (RRP), a full-service real estate firm specializing in commercial and industrial properties. He manages the day-to-day business activities of RRP, while also serving on its Investment Committee. The company's projects include the historic PacMutual center at 6th and Olive streets. Rising currently serves as a member of the Board of Regents of Loyola High School and chairs the Investment Committee. He is also Treasurer and a member of the Board of the Los Angeles River Revitalization Corporation and he chairs the Real Estate Committee. He is a member of the San Gabriel Valley Chapter of the Young Presidents' Organization. Rising is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Chandler School in Pasadena and the Board of Overseers at Loyola Law School.
