About this Performance
The Encuentros Orchestra is formed from top musicians from El Sistema-inspired programs representing 22 countries across 5 continents. Capping a two-week festival meant to build cultural harmony and respect through music, Gustavo Dudamel leads the orchestra in Dvořák’s poignant and popular “New World” symphony. Dudamel and the Encuentros Orchestra are joined by the multi-talented jazz bassist esperanza spalding in a special night celebrating the next generation of arts leaders.
The Encuentros Festival is generously supported by Judith and Thomas L. Beckmen.
