About this Performance

At a first glance, you might assume that acclaimed French conductor Ludovic Morlot had crafted a lovely French program to share with our Principal Concertmaster Martin Chalifour. Then you notice the Russian, Stravinsky – well, you’d still be correct, because Petrushka was composed specifically for Parisian ballet fans. Chalifour is soloist for two lyrical favorites, by Chausson and Massenet, and Morlot leads Stravinsky’s boisterous, delightful, and ultimately poignant ballet score.

This evening’s performance is made possible in part by the generous support of the Kohl Virtuoso Violin Fund.
